Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2012

My has it been that long since I have updated my blog... *sigh* too much to do and too little time... LOL :)

I worked very hard on all of my Christmas presents this year... and I would like to share some of them to you.

This I made for my son's father as a door hanger...yes I got the idea from Pinterest..They have some wonderful projects that you can make.

This is an altered tray that I made for my niece.  It is my first, so please do not look too closely.  I used Graphic 45 as my selection of paper.

This is a recipe that I made for my son's SO.  We are taking pictures of the things that  have recipe cards as we make them while they are here, and then will scrapbook them into this album.  I do hope that she likes it.  Again I used Graphic 45 for my paper selection.

This is my Soldier's deployment album of pictures of his SO, and of course one of his dawg (a spelling that my son uses), Bailey.  This was a kit that I used and altered it a bit to work for me.

I do hope that you will leave a comment as I really enjoy the feedback as well as your suggestions.

May you have a prosperous, healthy and joyful 2012...My blessings to all of you...

Karen

                                 Happy June everyone!!!!!

I have been busy busy busy trying to prepare for my cross country trek to Iowa with the Family!!! I have been working on several projects that will be given as gifts as well as thank yous.

I have also been busy meeting lots and lots of new scrapbooking friends on Facebook.

One of the new friends that I have is: Xochitl Zoe Aparicio-Sanchez.  She has a dynamite blog that you all should go and look at.  She has some wonderful ideas and crafts.
The link is:   http://craftyx.blogspot.com/
This is part of her "Blog Hop" and I so love to do these... Many things to learn yet.

I have also been doing some challenges for several websites.  I would like to share some of these with you.

This particular challenge was called "Celebration". I chose to share a layout of my Fathers 75th birthday Celebration.  I didn't have a Cricut cartridge with a cupcake or cake in it, so I googled cupcake... and this is what I found in the images...Printed out, cut it apart, and then pieced it together to make my cuppie cake!! :)

This challenge was called "Lazy Days of Summer"  through again Scrapbook Rooms on FB...https://www.facebook.com/Scrapbookrooms... I chose to use photograph and the theme of arriving in Mackinac Island.  We went there for my Parents 50th wedding anniversary and had the time of our lives...What a marvelous vacation to spend with family!!! ♥

New Layouts and Projects

I have been busy working on projects that will be going with me to Iowa in July.  Anniversary presents, wedding presents, baby albums and also just BIG thank you gifts... I want to share a few of them with you.

I have also just won my first scrapbook layout challenge and I want to share that with you as well.

This is my layout that I won an I-Rock tool

This is the tool, and it comes with the embellishments as well.

I have also been working on a scrapbook just for myself and it is coming together very well.

I just made an "Explosion Box" for the first time and it turned out so cute.  I didn't realize that they were so time consuming, but they are so pretty when they are done.  They can be used for weddings and other occasions where you would put photos in OR you can embellish them and put treats in them. I chose to embellish mine and I will keep in on my desk as a reminder if the time that it took to make my first one.

If you wish to make one this is the link that I used to get the information for mine...

Try making one of these...It is a challenge and so much fun to coordinate beautiful papers with embellishments.

Well, for another time, may you all have a blessed day and good night for today... ♥

National Scrapbook Day

So National Scrapbook Day has come and gone and what did you do??? I spend the weekend with great friends and others at a LSS scrapping to our hearts content.

In July - it will be my parents 62 wedding anniversary and I have been working on a layout that I found in a blog that I really loved!! Sooooo...I have it to show you, it is a picture of them on their wedding day (18 & 20 years old) and another at a wedding dancing (which they never do).

I have been working on some projects that I would like to share with all of you...I have had an old photo album full of old pictures if my brother and sister and myself and have been trying to get them into a scrapbook.  I finally finished my other projects that I had been working on for others and decided that this album will be for ME.  I am trying to do it in chronological order as best as I can, but I have some dynamite layouts that I have been wanting to try.  Some of them require vertical photos so some of the pages are a bit out of order. but here goes...

I have also attended my FIRST class that I have ever gone to in my scrapbooking career...I have been wanting to learn to make a mini - album and my LSS was holding a class on making a tri - fold acrylic album.  I had the time of my life and enjoyed it so...This is what we made...

I think that it turned out pretty good for the first timer!!

Besides scrapbooking, my son has returned from his 6th deployment and I was fortunate to go nd be able to see him only by the grace of God... Thank you Marianne...This is the thank you that I will be giving her for helping me out...

Well...I had better get scrapping  and finish my project for tonight, which is getting my scrapbook/crafting area in order so that I can continue to do my thing tomorrow...I completely turned it around today and am very happy with it...

Well...until we meet again, Peace out and may God Bless you all always!!! O:).

Been A While!!!!

Well mercy, it has been a while since I up dated my blog, so here goes..

I have always wanted to make a mini-scrapbook albums and thought that I would include a video of it...Thanks to Laura from Following The Paper Trail.  She expounds on everything that she uses to create an album.  They are so cute and easy after seeing this video. Take a look (two part series):

AND...Since I am a Strong Army Mom, I have some information on several things that I thought could be helpful for Military Moms from FREE (yes FREE) photographs of your Soldier, whether coming or going to Deployments - to - Pre, During, and After Deployments...

The Link for "Operation: Love Reunited" the photography session is: http://oplove.org/

The photographer that did our pre-deployment photos was the MOST sincere and loving person that I think that I have ever meet...She seemed to understand and capture every feeling of our session. LOVED HER!!! and the photos turn out beautiful.. The program includes a photo album for the Soldier to carry with them when they are deployed as well as being able to keep it with them when they are separated from the family and also a CD for the family. If you have not used this program...PLEASE do check it out...

For folks that are going to or have a Soldier that will or has deployed, a VERY informational book is available to send for for FREE again.

The Link for "A Handbook for Family & Friends of Service Members Before, During and After Deployment is: www.samhsa.gov

All you have to do is put the name of the book into the search line and it will pop up...Again it is FREE!!! It will take about 6-8 weeks to receive it.. (I forgot that I ordered it and all of a sudden it arrive like a Christmas present..lol :)) You can order up to 5 books at a time - so if you have family or friends..might as well order the maximum as it does have a lengthy ETA!!

Well, I think that concludes this update for now...Will have some great photos to add to the next update of a convention that I will be attending...

So until then, Good Luck on the Album, Photographs and Book Ordering...

Peace out for now...{{{HUGS}}}
